MISSION
Volunteer Lawyers Network was established as the Legal Advice Clinics in 1966 by a group of twenty-eight lawyers. Our mission is to advise and represent economically disadvantaged people with legal problems, through volunteer attorneys and without charge to the clients.

CHARITY RESPONSE TO REVIEW:
Since 1966, Volunteer Lawyers Network, Ltd. has been serving the civil legal needs of the economically disadvantaged located in Hennepin County. VLN maintains telephone intake lines for prospective clients seeking legal help which calls are answered by case placement coordinators who screen prospective clients to determine eligibility for services. If eligible, coordinators attempt to locate a volunteer attorney for the client. Also, VLN pro bono attorneys staff clinics in the Hennepin County Government Center, the Hennepin County Family Justice Center, and at community centers, schools and other organizations. While its primary activities are concentrated in Hennepin County, certain programs are statewide, including bankruptcy screening, bankruptcy adversary proceedings and federal pro se matters. VLN is proud to have met all of the standards of the Charities Review Council.
