Frequently Asked Questions
Is participation in the charity reviews voluntary?
Yes

How many charities has the Charities Review Council reviewed through the Accountability Wizard?
More than 300

What can an organization do to meet standards?
Contact the Council to find out how to meet the standard in question. It is extremely common to not meet a standard or two initially. In many cases, the changes required are minor. The Council applauds organizations that use the occasion of a review to learn how to improve accountability and transparency.

What does the review cost?
One percent of one percent (.0001) of your annual expenses, good for three years (A minimum of $100 and a maximum of $1,500).

Do you have discounts to reduce the review fee?
Please visit the Wizard News and Announcements page for any discount opportunities.

Do you review new organizations (less than three years old)?
Yes, if an organization has obtained its federal tax exemption, we have a modified review available. Contact the Council to learn more or download the new organization policy below.
